The MCS Dave Skelly Memorial Scholarship Winners for 2024 are two Methuen high school graduates who have been involved in video production from their early teens. “Logan Healy and Derrik Kane both embody the spirit of service that Dave Skelly promoted,” Karen Hayden, Executive Director, said. “We all learned from each other and that’s the best experience to have.”

Logan Healy, grandson of former Board member and program host Pamela Healy, has been involved at both Methuen High School and MCS in activities such as covering Ranger Basketball, Methuen Day and other events. He is also a crew member on the current episodes of “The Empty Chair Show.” He plans to major in Film and Animation at the Massachusetts College of Art this fall.

Derrik Kane joined MCS while in middle school and crewed on productions such as “Working for You”, “Mourning After” and other programs. After taking the Kids Video Workshop, he stuck around to help out with them in subsequent years. He will be attending University of Massachusetts at Lowell, majoring in computer science.

Both young men worked on the MHS Scholarship Telethon and as operators of the lights and sound at MHS auditorium for the last several years.
