Dave Skelly, first President of Methuen Community Television

Methuen Community Studios is once again accepting applications for the Dave Skelly Memorial Scholarship. This $1,000 scholarship is named in memory of DAVE SKELLY, the first President of Methuen Community Television, as it was called then.

This scholarship is open to Methuen residents only. As mentoring the next generation was important to Dave Skelly, this scholarship is OPEN to students who are just starting or currently attending college or other post high school programs. Preference may be given to students who have a connection to MCTV as former interns, active members or family of those who are involved here.

Dave’s vision was clear that MCTV should be a vibrant and relevant organization dedicated to serving the citizens of Methuen. He practiced what he preached. He volunteered many hours on Ranger High School Sports, Methuen Santa Parade, Veterans Spotlight, Canine Connections, and others. Dave served in the US Marines and worked for the City of Methuen in the Inspections department until he retired.

To apply, please download the form and return it by the deadline of April 16, 2021. Along with the application, please send one (1) letter of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor or employer. If you are a Media Major, we would also like to see some samples of your work.

Announcement will be made in May. Decisions of the Committee will be final. Students are encouraged to apply again if they do not receive a scholarship this year.
